What it does
The bobbin holder feeds your tying thread and keeps steady tension when you let it hang.
How to use it
- 1
Place the thread spool between the two arms with the thread feeding from the bottom.
- 2
Feed the thread through the tube using a bobbin threader, or draw it through carefully by suction.
- 3
Bend the arms slightly inward for more tension or outward for less.
- 4
Hold near the tube for control and keep the thread at roughly a right angle to the hook while wrapping.
Beginner tip
Let the bobbin hang below the hook when you pause — its weight keeps the last wrap from loosening.
Common mistake
Too much tension snaps fine thread. Start gently and increase it only when the thread slips.
