What it imitates

A worm washed into the river — no apologies needed.

When to fish it

High or coloured water after rain, on rivers and small stillwaters.

Materials

  • Squirmy worm material in pink or red
  • Fluorescent pink thread
  • 3.5mm slotted tungsten bead

Steps

  1. 1

Slide the slotted bead onto the jig hook and start the thread behind it.

  2. 2

Lay a short thread base — keep it light, squirmy material cuts easily.

  3. 3

Tie the squirmy in across the middle with soft loose turns, both ends free.

  4. 4

Build a small thread collar behind the bead, whip finish and leave the ends wiggly.
