Three steps

Pull a couple of metres of loose line off the reel and hold it in your line hand.

Make a normal overhead cast with a good crisp stop.

As the loop unrolls forward, let the loose line slip through your fingers in an O-ring.
Common mistake
Releasing the line too early, which kills the loop and dumps everything short.
Tip
Release just after the stop — you'll feel the line tug your fingers when it's ready.
